Building a list is extremely profitable. You can hardly find a website that Isn’t hitting you up for your email.
The money is in the list…..
That is completely true.
Why?
Building a list has several advantages, in fact “list-building” is more important than just about every other facet of marketing……
So why should I build a list?
- your list is warm. You’ll never experience conversion rates like you will with your list. They know you, they like you, they’ll buy from you.
- list-building is quite simple really, you’re not “selling” them anything (not necessarily) and (good) opt-in rates can range from 50 – 80% with targeted traffic.
- multiple paydays. Yes, you can market to your list forever. That is very very powerful. Even on successful aff. campaigns you’re getting 1, maybe 2 or 3 nice commissions but a list provides income for a long time
- brand development. Successfully branding yourself in a niche will increase your exposure to the community growing your audience. The more eyeballs you have on your content the more money you will make, simple.
- JV Swaps. This is a truly powerful concept that I have not used yet but the idea is this: you have a list of 500, person B has a list of 500 and then you each mail out an offer for one another mutually growing each others list. Leveraging the power of your list and (possibly) exponential growth….. (more…)
So you’re a marketer right?
You market things, eh?
New marketers tend to think they have to “market” and they have to set aside blocs of time to “market.”
FAIL
Now you do need to set aside time to “market” and create content and a sleuth of other things but we live in a time where you can monetize every thing you do….. literally.
Ask yourself this question, what do I like to do online?
Maybe you talk politics in a forum, watch youtube videos, or (more…)
Deadly marketing mistake #1 = the plateau
All too often I see marketers trying to dominate already dominated micro-niches. If you find yourself marketing to a micro-niche like “comfortable yoga mats” or “titanium juicers” don’t try to squeeze traffic that’s not there.
Cultivate a high-quality keyword list of low competition-high search keywords that you feel you can dominate.
“I already do that”
Yeah, i bet you do. The problem comes about whenever you make your first sale in the niche. If you’re new to Internet Marketing you’re likely to milk the hell out of this niche, and not in a good way. For some reason new marketers fall in love with a niche and never “exit” when it’s time to move on (I’ve been guilty of this before to). There is some kind of psychological effect that blocks new marketers from moving into new niches. Maybe it’s the fear of competition, the hassle of building a new site, or the research that goes into niche marketing.
Get over it…..
You have to put yourself out there and try new things if you’re going to succeed and pull in $$$. Simply following (more…)
